Fun Facts

I love creating projects from the ground up.

With a background in architecture and construction, my journey into software development began with a humble attempt to create a personal website for my freelance endeavors. This experience was the impetus for a profound realization that coding enabled me to bring my ideas to life with boundless resources and remarkable agility. Unlike the lengthy timelines of traditional construction projects, where fruition could take years, in software development, having a project materialize within weeks was nothing short of amazing and honestly, addicting.

Today, as a software developer, I continue to nurture my passion for building and innovation, but I've traded my hardhat for a mouse and keyboard.

Social justice and community outreach are at the core of my values ⭐️.

Through leveraging technology 💻, I'm committed to creating meaningful impact 💪.

The following are some open-source projects and groups
I've dedicated my time to volunteering with.

Women Who Code, SF

Chapter Lead |

(March 2022 - April 2024)

As a lead and event host for the San Francisco chapter, I played an active role in the tech community. Through this network, our aim was to cultivate inclusivity and facilitate knowledge sharing. Alongside fellow members during our monthly 'Hack Nights', I contributed by troubleshooting and debugging, while also providing mentorship and support to fellow developers in our community.

Jasmin School

Frontend Developer |

(December 2023 - March 2024)

Jasmin is a virtual educational program aimed at continuing the learning process virtually to ensure that each student has the opportunity to receive quality education, regardless of their location or living conditions. As part of the frontend team, I work closely with a small group of developers and designers to finalize the application for production. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to work on this ongoing project!
Technologies:
Typescript | Next.js | Shadcn | Tailwind

Program Earth

Software Engineer / Mentor |

(November 2023 - Present)

As a fellow I contributed to Amplify, an open-source web app for climate advocacy, that enables nonprofits to engage volunteers and automate civic involvement. I enhanced the process of creating personalized letters to local representatives by integrating Lob API's merge variables for dynamic customization and implemented template updates based on campaign stage, optimizing communication on Amplify's platform. Now as a mentor, I support fellows through code reviews.
Technologies:
Vue.js | Express.js | Lob API
